Who Runs My School?
A Power Map of Detroit Schools

Mobile-friendly version
Download the spreadsheet
how to use this tool
Type the name of the school you are looking for in the "Search" bar.  If it doesn't come up, try using a shorter piece of the name.  For example, instead of "Benjamin Carson School for Medicine and Science", try "Carson".

Use the + and - buttons to zoom in and out. Clicking on each circle will you show you more information about that organization/institution.   Clicking on the lines will show you the relationship between the two institutions it connects.
Why we did this
Detroit's public education system is complex: 60 districts, 10 charter authorizers, and hundreds of board members. If parents, students, and educators want to have a voice, we need to know who runs our schools.  Click here to read a blog post from the people who created this map about how they found the information.
Where else You CAN get school info
Mi School Data - basic facts about school achievement, attendance, etc.
CEPI - information about charter authorizers and management companies
LARA - charter district incorporation and board information
